Windels. Their approach can be summed up in three words: Innovative World Creations. Always on the look out for the new, Chef Becky seems to be driven by the joy of daily epiphanies. Endless new recipes come from taking what is freshest at the farm stand and being open-minded enough to having an idea drive her in the kitchen. The breakfast, lunch and dinner menus are vast and varied, ensuring an entrée for every palate. Here is a snapshot of current offerings at the new Herb Box at DC Ranch: Breakfast – Cinnamon Buckwheat Pancakes with Dried Blueberries, Maple Cured Bacon and whipped Honey Butter, a Cup of Hot Cocoa with Creamy Custard and Cinnamon Dust [made fresh daily], or try the MARKET STREET BLT with Eggs, Crisp Pancetta, Wild Arugula, Vine Tomatoes and Burrata on Brioche or Old School Doughnuts with [made fresh daily]. Lunch – Begin with a cool Cilantro-Lime Crab Dips with Crisp Plantain Chips …wraps get a spiffy dust off at The Herb Box; Chicken and Arugula has Gorgonzola, Sugared Walnuts and Dried Cherries and you can't miss with the Flatbread Pizzas; Corn and Goat Cheese punctuated with Sweet Tomato, Red Onion, Bacon and topped with Wild Arugula. Dinner – Wild Caught Salmon Cakes, Balsamic Roasted Beets, Mache, Tzatziki and Grilled Lemon. Also try the Steak, Tomato and Frites: grilled Tenderloin with an Arugula-Gorgonzola Sauce and Crisp Fingerling Potatoes. Don't forget about the housemade desserts including Lemon-Almond Teacake with Black Pepper Crème Anglaise, Guinness Cake with Espresso Icing or Honey Pistachio Ice-Cream Sandwich Cookies with Toasted Almond. If your schedule doesn't allow you time to come and relax with a glass of wine, much of the menu can be taken home at the adjacent Gourmet Market.
